The abstract of this study is an investigation and critique on two of his books titled "My Bukhara, My Tribe" and "What If Ghareghaj Never Existed" as well as Bahmanbeigi's narrative-styled memoirs based on the critical theory of New Historicism which is a new literary criticism approach introduced in 1970's and 1980's. By eliminating the border between history and literature through this approach, a critical criterion is proposed based on which the connections between a text and its historical background can be studied. Based on this methodology, the life of the author, his various tendencies, and his social, political, and cultural activities are initially investigated. Afterwards, the reflection of historical, political, and cultural situation of his lifetime in his works are analyzed and various discourses as well as the conflicts in his stories are explained through providing examples of those two books of Bahmanbeigi. The study is carried out with a descriptive-analytical method and by using library sources. The results indicate that the stories are the reflections of political, social, and cultural conditions of Reza Shah Pahlavi and Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi eras. Prior to the administrative discourses of education, disarmament, and mandatory settlements of nomads, the nomadic societies identified themselves with notions such as strong fascination with guns and horse-back riding, migration, and farming lifestyle. However, by the emergence of new administrative discourses, these notions shifted. Initially, there was a contrast between Pahlavi's centralization discourse and tribal decentralization discourse. However, by spreading the discourse of education and literacy, Bahmanbeigi managed to solidify the discourse of the governing system in nomadic societies.

Mohammad Bahmanbeigi is the most significant social-literary figure of the Iranian tribes not only for founding the Nomadic Education Program, but also due to his books and stories on his life as well as his people's culture, traditions, and customs. The first two chapters of this study discuss the story elements and native literature of Iran. The third chapter analyzes the most significant features of Bahmanbeigi's style on linguistic and literary levels. Employing the local words and expressions and short sentences similar to everyday conversation styles of the tribal people, Bahmanbeigi's prose is simple and without linguistic complexities. Through artistic descriptions and imageries of tribal lifestyle and applying figures of speech such as simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, humor, etc. he has added to the literary and linguistic richness of his works. The fourth chapter both studies intellectual notions and themes of his works and analyzes the story elements. The chapter demonstrates his new literary style; Tribal Literature which is subgenre of Native Literature through engaging in the difficulties of tribal life, explaining the history of tribal people, and his efforts to end the economic and cultural poverty through his Nomadic Education Program.
