Nomadic middle school
The education system of Iran which had been initially consisted of 6 years of elementary school and 6 years of high school, altered in the school year of 1970-71 with three separate levels; elementary school, middle, and high school. Since there had not been any middle school in nomadic areas, almost all elementary school graduates were deprived of higher education. Committed that Bahmanbeigi was, he could not watch the adversity and thus began another endeavor.
The first nomadic middle schools opened in 1973 and in Jaidasht, Firooz Abad on the route of nomads' migration as well as in the region of Kolah Siah Doshman Ziari and the number of middle school grew in a few years. The location of these schools was mostly the residential centers of nomadic households. The number of active schools in school years 1975-76, 1976-77, and 1977-78 was 8, 12, and 17 respectively. The number of middle school graduates in the last year was 2244 (261 girls and 1983 boys) which was less than 2 per cent of elementary school students. The team of the teachers consisted of nomadic licensed teachers and other high school graduates.
