Middle School Teacher Training Center
The demand for the expansion of middle schools had outweighed the number of teachers and most teachers with associate degrees had not been fond of teaching in nomadic and rural regions. The answer was again employing the literate nomadic potentials. To furnish the required teachers for middle schools an advantage was given to nomadic candidates a part of which was exclusive to nomadic teachers who had obtained their diploma while working and another part was for non-teacher diploma holders to get admitted to the Shiraz Middle School Teacher Training Center. However, this approach could not fulfill the demand of nomadic middle schools and hence with a number of 53 students, a middle school teacher training center was established in 1977 exclusively dedicated to train the nomadic youth in Shiraz. The following year the number of accepted trainees was 80. In the school year 1979-80 the program length was changed to two years and the number of the student reached 100 which increased to 135 the next year. The candidates were selected through the National University Admission Examination (Konkoor) to study in 5 areas required in middle schools.
